Film news: Fortnite crossover with Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Kill Bill’ ahead of cinema re-release

Kill Bill’s The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge is ramping up to make an exciting debut via the worldwide video game phenomenon Fortnite.

The special distribution anticipates the equally special re-release: Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, in theatres from December 5.

Film News Blitz’s RC Stacey slices through the new crossover.

What is ‘Kill Bill’ and why are we getting a new double bill?

Originally released as two films in 2003 and 2004, Tarantino’s Kill Bill saga is being re-released in December as a full-length feature, including a newly created short animation featuring an originally cut sub-plot.

Quoted by Variety, Tarantino said, “I wrote and directed it as one movie – and I’m so glad to give the fans the chance to see it as one movie… The best way to see Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is at a movie theatre in glorious 70mm or 35mm. Blood and guts on a big screen in all its glory!”

Releasing in theatres from December 5, this special four-hour event will tell the whole story of Uma Thurman’s The Bride getting her revenge on husband Bill (David Carradine) and his gang of villains (featuring the late, great Michael Madsen).

Why is ‘Kill Bill’ coming to Fortnite?

No stranger to unconventional crossovers (September 2025 featured playable characters from Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another), Epic Games' Fortnite will be debuting Tarantino’s newly created The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge from November 30, featuring Thurman reprising her role via motion capture.

What is ‘Yuki’s Revenge’

A sub-plot cut from the original release of the Kill Bill films, Yuki’s Revenge sees Yuki (sister of Gogo Yubari played by Chiaki Kuriyama) travel to the US to get revenge on Thurman’s Bride.

As reported by Eurogamer, Fortnite fans can expect to see Yuki’s Revenge from 7 pm GMT on November 30, while non-gamers will have to wait until the release of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair on December 5 in cinemas across North America, Canada, and the UK.

Are you looking forward to seeing Tarantino’s violent, epic tale of revenge in all its glory?
